2022 DEVELOPMENT SQUAD trials

COMMITMENT

Our Women's Artistic Squad works at County, Regional and National level and we are proud to say that we have many champions here at Kennylands and a few gymnasts in the South Region Squad!

If selected following the trials, the gymnasts will train on Tuesdays & Thursdays 4-7.30pm and Sundays 11am-4pm beginning in September 2022 (all sessions must be attended) – (squad timetable and fees can be found on our website)

Our older girls train between 14 and 20 hours a week and have an extensive training programme. This squad is a big commitment for both gymnasts and parents alike.

Following the initial trial, you will be able to access an evaluation and see what was tested via your account, and you will receive an email letting you know the outcome. We may ask for a further months' trial throughout Summer

If selected, we treat our Development Squad as an ongoing trial designed to help us determine the best pathway for the gymnasts involved.

Please be aware that squad places are highly selective and with such a high demand for trial places there is a less than 10% chance of any child being offered a squad place.  In view of this we suggest that you treat the trial as a “fun session” for your child to come and explore gymnastics with little mention of them being tested or assessed.  This will hopefully manage expectations and Coaches will be able to assess the children in as natural a way as possible.  The session is available for all who meet the age criteria regardless of whether they have prior gymnastics experience  and we are therefore unable to advise prior to the trial suitability for individual children.

Following the trial your child may be asked  to attend additional sessions throughout the summer holidays and in this instance we will notify you and organise another bookable session.
